Toddler Reeks Of Weed When Mom Picks Her Up: Avon Lake Police Blotter
When an Avon Lake woman's daughter spent time with her dad, she came home smelling of marijuana.

AVON LAKE, OH — Police spent time early this week investigating a man who may have smoked weed in front of his 2-year-old daughter. The girl was picked up by her mom after a visit and she reeked of burnt marijuana, according to police.

Property Damage, July 19 — A Brookfield Road resident called police to report property damage done to her home. When officers arrived they found the woman's garage door had been damaged. The woman asked police to file a report for documentation.

Criminal Damaging, July 21 — Police responded to a woman who's windshield had been smashed. The woman has been having issued with her ex-boyfriend and told police she wants to pursue criminal charges.
Disturbance, July 23 — An unwanted man refused to leave his ex-wife's home on Magnolia Lane. The man reportedly arrived at the house, took pictures of the woman's boyfriend's truck, and then wouldn't leave the property. The ex-wife called 911 and the man jumped in his car and sped off before officers arrived.

Suspicious Activity, July 25 — An Avon Lake man was threatened on social media. The threat maker had attempted to do business with the Avon Lake man and the deal had fallen through. Attempts to work out the situation had failed and the man then found the threat on social media.
Theft, July 28 — Two unlocked cars on Chatham Drive were rifled through overnight. A small amount of cash and a pair of headphones were stolen.
Suspicious Activity, July 28 — A suspicious package was delivered to an Avon Lake man's home. Police spoke to the man's juvenile son about the package and its contents.
OVI, July 29 — Police stopped a car for driving without two working headlights. The driver was believed to be under the influence of alcohol. An open bottle of alcohol was found in the vehicle.
Drug Investigation, July 29 — An Avon Lake woman went to pick up her child from her father after a scheduled visit. When the woman got the two-year-old, there was a smell of burnt marijuana on her clothing. Officers could not locate the father, who does not live in Avon Lake. The mother was advised of her options and a police report was taken.
Stolen Vehicle, July 31 — An Avon Lake man ran a 20-minute errand and when he returned home his wife's 2015 BMW 328IX had been stolen out of his driveway.
