Two Drug Incidents In Avon Lake In 7 Days

One person was busted for possession of marijuana. Another person may be facing more serious charges based on lab tests.

AVON LAKE, OH — In a seven day span, police dealt with two different drug-based incidents in Avon Lake. One suspect was caught with marijuana, police are waiting for test results on the substance found in the other incident.

The first crime happened on Jan. 10. Police were called to a home on Brookcrest Place for reports of a drug overdose. When they arrived, the 24-year-old suspect was awake, coherent and walking around. He refused medical treatment.

Police collected some evidence at the scene. Officials say they will be submitting the evidence for testing.

Then, on Tuesday, police saw a suspicious car in the area of Wildberry at about 12:30 a.m. The vehicle failed to yield at one point, so an officer pulled the car over.

The driver had marijuana in their possession. Police cited the driver for having the narcotic and the driver will appear at Avon Lake Municipal Court on Jan. 30.
