University Hospitals Expands Presence In Lorain County

AMHERST, OH — UH Rainbow Lorain Pediatrics is moving to new offices in Amherst in February and has opened a new facility near Oberlin College.

“We are excited to start the year by opening new doors to our patients and their families,” said Dr. Andrew Hertz, vice president of community women and children services at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s. “These spaces and a few new faces highlight our commitment to the health and well-being of Lorain County and the surrounding area.”

The Amherst medical facility will be housed in a renovated building, behind the Wendy's and south of the Route 58-Route 2 intersection. There will be improved parking for families.

UH Rainbow Lorain Pediatrics also recently opened offices at 319 W. Lorain Street in Oberlin. Expectant families can also participate in the new University Hospitals Centering Pregnancy, a group care model meant to decrease preterm birth rates and postpartum depression.

“Rainbow has been caring for kids in Lorain County for a quarter century, from infancy through young adulthood,” Hertz said. “We are proud to expand the expert pediatric care and women’s health and pregnancy services to enhance care and outcomes for mothers and their babies.”

University Hospitals also has primary care offices in Avon, Elyria and North Ridgeville.
