Vandalism Damages Park Bathroom, School In Avon Lake

Damage was done to a bathroom at Walker Road Park and to a mobile unit at St. Joseph School.

AVON LAKE, OH — Two separate incidents of vandalism are being investigated by Avon Lake police. Someone damaged a bathroom at Walker Road Park and a group of juveniles may have damaged property at St. Joseph School.

On May 2, the Avon Lake Service department discovered someone had damaged a door in the men's restroom at Walker Road Park. Police are gathering video evidence of the incident and documenting evidence.

Two days later, on May 4, a group of juveniles were seen hanging around the St. Joseph school property. One of the juveniles threw a rock at a glass door, police said. The door did not break.

The juvenile then turned off power to the mobile unit at the school. Flipping the power switch damaged the lights inside the mobile unit and all batteries inside the unit now need to be replaced, according to a police report obtained by Patch.

Police have identified the juvenile involved in the incident.
