'Very High Exposure, Spread' Of COVID-19 In Lorain County
The Ohio Department of Health has now classified Lorain County as "red" for its COVID-19 spread.
AVON, OH — Lorain County has a "very high" rate of "exposure and spread of COVID-19," the Ohio Department of Health confirmed this week.
While many counties in Ohio are seeing a decrease in new COVID-19 cases, Lorain County has seen a steady increase in concerning metrics, Gov. Mike DeWine said Thursday.
Since the start of the pandemic, Lorain County has confirmed 1,925 COVID-19 cases among resident, the Ohio Department of Health reported. On Aug. 20, the Lorain County Board of Health said it had 164 "probable" cases.

The Ohio National Guard brought free COVID-19 testing to Avon Lake this week. The testing was open to anyone who wanted a test.
Only nine counties in Ohio are classified as "red" this week for "very high" COVID-19 spread: Clark, Lorain, Preble, Trumbull, Clermont, Erie, Franklin, Lucas and Mercer.
