Volunteers Needed For Mock Emergency In Lorain County
Participants are needed for 30 to 60 minutes to help emergency services prepare for a real emergency.

ELYRIA, OH — Volunteers are needed for a Lorain County mock emergency preparedness event. The event will help emergency services prepare for a real emergency, like a disease outbreak, terrorist attack or natural disaster.
The mock emergency will be held July 12, between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. Participants should go to the Ewing Field House at Lorain County Community College in Elyria. Once there, workers will guide attendees through the various steps taken in a real emergency.
Attendees will go through pretend educational sessions, receive pretend medication and fill out pretend paperwork. Each participant will be needed for about 30 to 60 minutes. Attendees can show up whenever they'd like between 9 a.m. and noon.

The event is open to residents and visitors of Lorain County of all ages and abilities. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, the county said. No pre-registration is required.
These are the various organizations that are participating in the exercise: Lorain County Community College, Emergency Management Agency, Elyria City Police, Elyria City Fire, Lorain County Public Health, and Life Care.
