Wallet Stolen Out Of Williamsburg Drive Resident's Car

Whoever snagged the wallet tried to use the man's credit cards in purchases around Cleveland.

AVON LAKE, OH — Someone got into the unlocked car of an Avon Lake man, stole his wallet and tried to use his credit cards to buy items around Cleveland. The theft may have happened either at Lorain County Community College or in the man's driveway.

The man's wallet was in the center console of his car. The wallet was likely taken on March 30, according to police records. The man's home is located in the 200 block of Williamsburg Drive.

Once the wallet was taken, several attempts to use the man's credit cards were made around Cleveland. The resident was able to contact his lending institutions and get his accounts flagged and his cards cancelled. It does not appear any purchases were made using the man's cards.
