Want To Be A Cop? Avon Is Hiring

A civil service exam will be held August 4, the department said. It's open U.S. citizens over the age of 21.

AVON, OH β€” Always wanted to be a police officer? This could be the opportunity. The Avon Police Department is hiring new officers.

The department is holding a civil service exam on August 4 at Avon High School. Applicants must be at least 21 and must have a valid Ohio's driver's license and a high school diploma or GED-equivalent.

The salary for hired officers will range from $59,675.20 to $74,588.80, the police department said on social media. There are also state pension and medical, dental and vision benefits.

Applicants will need to pass a physical agility exam, which includes sit-ups, push-ups and a 1.5 mile run. To see the agility exam, click here.
