Wanted Man Found In Parking Lot Of Avon Lake High

AVON LAKE, OH — A man wanted on a dangerous drugs warrant was found in a parking lot near Avon Lake High School on Sunday, according to police records.

At about 4:40 a.m., an officer on patrol saw three cars parked in the west lot of the high school. One of the cars had people inside.

The officer checked out the car and saw two people laying in the back seat, with the door ajar. The officer introduced himself and then got each person's information.

One of the two people, a 23-year-old man from Elyria, had a felony warrant for his arrest, police records showed. The warrant was for possession of dangerous drugs and was through the Westlake Police Department.

Avon Lake dispatch confirmed that the warrant was active and then police took the 23-year-old into custody. The man was then taken to Bradley Road, near the railroad tracks in Westlake, and was given to Westlake officers.

The man was taken into Westlake custody without incident, police records said.
