Watch Avon Lake's Old Blue Water Tower Come Down [Video]
The once-iconic water tower was brought down on Tuesday.

AVON LAKE, OH β On Tuesday, the city's once-iconic blue water tower was taken down. The tower was removed in a controlled crash, as can be seen in a video at the bottom of this article.
The tower hadn't been used for some time, prior to the demolition. Still, the city of Avon Lake said the tower had "served us well" in a social media post. Perhaps a bit of nostalgia for the now-gone landmark.
The demolition of the water tower was first announced in early September, but a time table for the project wasn't initially set. Eventually, the city said the water tower would come down October 23. As a result, part of Walker Road, near Moore, was closed briefly on Tuesday.
