Weed, Warrants, Unruly Juveniles: Avon Lake Police Blotter

Police had a busy end of August.

AVON LAKE, OH — Avon Lake Police had a busy end to August, busting two people with marijuana, investigating a set of slashed tires at an apartment complex, dealing with unruly juveniles, and executing warrants for other police departments.

Criminal Damaging, August 18 — Someone slashed the tires on an Avon Lake woman's car. Police have identified a suspect in the crime.

Warrant Service, August 19 — A little before 10 a.m., police saw a 36-year-old man in Miller Park with multiple arrest warrants in his name. Officers took custody of the man, without incident, and transferred him to Amherst Police.

Warrant Service, August 21 — While conducting a traffic stop on a blue Ford Ranger, with no license plate, police discovered the driver had a warrant for his arrest with the Lorain Police Department. The 27-year-old driver was taken into custody and transferred to Lorain Police.

Juvenile Complaint, August 22 — Reports of an out-of-control juvenile were made by a Diversion Officer at the Lorain County Juvenile Court. When police arrived, the teenager had calmed down, but her mother still wanted to press charges.

Drug Investigation, August 23 — Callers reported seeing a suspicious vehicle in the area of Sunset Parkway, near Fay Avenue. The callers felt there might be drugs inside the car. Police investigated and found three people in the vehicle. One of the persons was cited for possession of marijuana.

Possession of Marijuana, August 26 — Police stopped a car for speeding on Lake Road, near Miller Road. The also had marijuana with them and was cited for speeding and possession.
