Woman Asked Cops To Take Her To Jail After Car Accident: Police
Police said the woman was staggering about, slurring her words, and didn't have a license to be driving.

AVON LAKE, OH — A woman told police to take her to jail after she was involved in a car accident, according to reports from Avon Lake Police.
At about 7:40 p.m. on Jan. 31, officers were sent to a car accident on Walker Road, just past the Drug Mart Plaza. As police approached the scene, one of the people involved, a Lorain woman, walked up to them and began talking about the accident.
According to police reports, the woman was staggering while walking and slurring her words. When asked if she had been drinking, the woman reportedly said, "Yes."

Police then asked the woman if she had her driver's license on her. She told them no, prompting another question: did she have a license at all?
“I don’t have a license to be driving so just take me to jail," the woman told police, according to the Avon Lake Police report.

Police charged the woman with driving under the influence of liquor, assured clear distance (for the accident), and driving under suspension (for not having a license). The woman had her first appearance in court on Feb. 4. Her pre-trial is Feb. 14.
