$1,360 In Counterfeit Money Found In Crashed Car In Beachwood

Police said the driver also had several open containers of alcohol in his car.

BEACHWOOD, OH — A drunk driver crashed into a curb on Halburton Road on Sunday night, police said. When officers arrived they found more than $1,300 in counterfeit currency and several open containers of alcohol in the man's car.

The crash happened at about 3 a.m., according to police documents. The driver was arrested and is being charged with transporting forged documents, operating a vehicle under the influence, reasonable control, and open container in a public place, police said.

Open Container, August 19 — Police were called to the Double Tree for a man making a disturbance. Officers found the man in his car, with an open container of alcohol. The man was cited for having an open container.

Possession of Marijuana, August 18 — Expired license plates prompted police to stop a car on Richmond Road. The driver had a suspended license and marijuana in his possession. The driver's car was towed from the scene.

Suspicion, August 18 — Someone urinated out of a window at the Beachwood Villas South, a resident told police.

Suspicious Vehicle, August 18 — A jar of raw marijuana was found in a car parked near the Embassy Suites on Saturday. Police were asked to check on the car because there appeared to be two people asleep inside the vehicle.

Shoplifting, August 17 — A man was arrested for stealing more than $250 of merchandise from Giant Eagle on Friday. The suspect had drug paraphernalia in their possession, police said.

Possession of Marijuana, August 17 — Officers stopped a car on Cedar Road for driving with expired license plates. The driver was found to have marijuana in their possession, police said.

Disturbance, August 17 — A guest that had been evicted from the Vue returned to the apartment complex on Friday evening and began using the amenities. Police were called to get rid of the evicted person.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, August 17 — Police stopped a car on Richmond Road on early Friday morning. The woman driving the car was cited for driving with a suspended license and making an improper turn at an intersection. A man in the passenger seat was cited for wrongful entrustment of his car and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

OVI, August 17 — A driver failed to obey right-of-way signs on a thru street on early Friday morning, police said. The driver was found to be impaired and was arrested. The driver already had a suspended license for driving impaired.
