$1,500 Scholarship Given To Beachwood Student

Jennifer Yen plans to study neuroscience and business at the University of Pennsylvania.

BEACHWOOD, OH — Jennifer Yen, a Beachwood High School graduate, is the recipient of a $1,500 scholarship from Summit Mall. The scholarship was awarded by the mall's parent company, Simon, and its Simon Youth Foundation (SYF). The SYF's primary focus is increasing educational opportunities for at-risk students.

Yen plans to study neuroscience and business at the University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy League institution. She is also an avid biker, cycling through mountains. She's also a tennis player, writer, and land steward.

Summit Mall, located in Fairlawn, now offers customers the chance to support scholarships for area students while shopping. The Simon Gift Card program sends $1 from every SYF Simon Visa gift card purchase to support scholarship and graduation programs in the community.
