100s Of Cough Drops Stolen From Beachwood Gas Station

It is flu season, so it kind of makes sense.

BEACHWOOD, OH — This year's flu season has been really bad. So bad that someone stole 100s of cough drops from a local gas station, police said. Get the details on that incident and others from the past week below.

Fraud, Jan. 22 — An Amhearst Circle resident was the victim of a fraud scheme, costing them $1,400.

Suspicious Person, Jan. 22 — Callers on Fairmount Boulevard reported seeing a creepy visage on Monday. A tall, thin man was reportedly seen prowling through backyard. Police were unable to find anyone matching that description though.

Criminal Damaging, Jan. 22 — A Dilliard's employee stole a pair of shoes and wore them out of the store. Police arrested the man for theft and damaging the shoes.

Marijuana Possession, Jan. 22 — Police were at the BP Oil/Lehigh Gas Station, 25705 Chagrin Blvd., when they saw a man drop a plastic baggie on the floor. The bag appeared to contain marijuana. The man was cited for drug possession.

Marijuana Possession, Jan. 22 — Officers stopped a car on Harvard Road for slow speed and impeding traffic. The driver had an expired license, an open container of beer in the car and marijuana. The driver also had a prohibited blood alcohol level and a child in the car. The driver was arrested.

OVI, Jan. 23 — A car was stopped on the Chagrin Boulevard exit of I-271. The driver was arrested for possession of marijuana and underage possession of alcohol.

Theft, Jan. 23 — A woman's iPhone was stolen while she was at the Jewish Community Center.

Shoplifting, Jan. 23 — Marshalls loss prevention officers stopped a shoplifter. One juvenile male tried to run out of the store but was grabbed by cops.

Shoplifting, Jan. 24 — Apparently suffering from the world's worst cough, an unidentified suspect stole more than 100 cough drops from the BP Oil/Lehigh Gas Station on Chagrin. Together, the cough drops are worth $150.

Theft from Building, Jan. 24 — A woman's wallet was stolen when she went to Benihana's. The woman's credit cards have since been used in some fraudulent transactions.
