2 Cars Nearly Broken Into Over The Weekend In Beachwood

One vehicle had its front passenger side window smashed in. Another resident reported someone trying to break into their car.

BEACHWOOD, OH — Police are investigating two incidents that saw thieves either break into or try to break into cars parked in the city. One vehicle had its front window smashed in. Another vehicle had someone try to break into it.

Shoplifting, Sept. 29 — Two juveniles were arrested for stealing merchandise from Sephora at Beachwood Place Mall, 26300 Cedar Rd. The duo were trying to get away with about $156 in cosmetics.

Forgery, Sept. 29 — A Halworth Road resident reported someone forged two personal checks using their identity.

Endangering Child, Sept. 29 — Police arrested a woman at Beachwood Place Mall for endangering a child.

Criminal Damaging, Sept. 29 — While parked at the Stratton House Apartments, 22655 Chagrin Blvd., a woman's vehicle had its front passenger side window broken out. Someone then rummaged through her vehicle.

License Suspension, Sept. 30 — Officers investigated a car that was left running, but unoccupied, in front of Deville Apartments South, 23305 Chagrin Blvd. The driver of the vehicle was located and arrested because they had a suspended driver's license.

Marijuana Possession, Sept. 30 — Police arrested a man near the True North Shell Gas Station, 26100 Chagrin Blvd., for driving with a suspended license. The man was also found to be in possession of marijuana.

Disturbance, Sept. 30 — A woman caused a disturbance in Saks Fifth Avenue at Beachwood Place Mall. The woman was removed from the store and banned from the mall.

Shoplifting, Sept. 30 — Police arrested a juvenile female for shoplifting $39 of merchandise from Sephora at the mall.

Shoplifting, Sept. 30 — An adult man was arrested for shoplifting from Dillard's at Beachwood Place Mall. He tried to smuggle $25 of merchandise out of the store.

Endangering Child, Oct. 1 — A man was stopped near Fairmount Boulevard for a lane violation. Officers determined the man was impaired and arrested him for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. The man had a child in his car and was charged with endangering a child.

Suspicion, Oct. 1 — A resident reported that someone attempted to break into their car on Belvoir Boulevard.
