3 Busted For Marijuana In Beachwood

Police dealth with three separate cases of marijuana possession, including one incident involving a patient at Beachwood Point Rehab.

BEACHWOOD, OH - Regardless of how you feel about marijuana, possession of the substance is still a crime. This past week in Beachwood saw police dealing with multiple people in possession of the substance. Read on for this week's police blotter incidents.

Drug Possession, March 27 - Police stopped an adult male on Chagrin Boulevard for speeding. Officers found that the driver was in possession of marijuana and arrested him. He is being charged with speeding and drug possession.

License Suspension, March 27 - A man was stopped on Cedar Road, near Dillard's, for speeding. The car the man was driving also had expired plates and the man was arrested for speeding, expired plates, resisting an officer, and driving with a suspended license.

Harassing Communications, March 27 - A Beachwood woman's daughter was involved in a car accident in Cleveland on March 24 and the other person involved in the crash was harassing the daughter.

Larceny, March 27 - A man's $6,000 watch was stolen from his car while it was parked 26150 Village Ln.

Disturbance, March 27 - An employee near the Hamptons Building on Cedar Road told police he fired an employee and the employee then threatened to destroy the man's property in Akron.

Warrant Served, March 27 - Beachwood Police took custody of a woman that was arrested at the Portage County Courthouse for a warrant out of Beachwood.

Warrant Served, March 28 - A woman came to the Beachwood Police department to get her towed car released. The woman had an active warrant through South Euclid and was arrested.

Theft from Auto, March 28 - A saw was stolen from a construction crew's truck. The truck was parked at 2101 Richmond Road. The saw is valued at $1,500.

Marijuana Possession, March 29 - Police stopped a car on Farnsleigh Road for a traffic offense. The driver didn't have a license, but a temporary driver's permit and there was no valid driver in the car. There was also a baggie of marijuana found in the car. The driver was cited and released.

Criminal Damaging, March 29 - Police say a vehicle parked at Maggiano's, 26300 Cedar Rd., was criminally damaged.

Fraud, March 29 - First National Bank reported that it received several checks with insufficient funds to back them up. Police say the fraudulent checks total $6,272.

Theft, March 29 - While shopping at Saks 5th Avenue, a man reportedly had his cell phone stolen by an unidentified person.

Suspicion, March 30 - Crestmont Cadillac, 26000 Chagrin Blvd., reports that it is short $500 from a transaction that took place on March 29.

Marijuana Possession, March 30 - Marijuana was located in a patient's room at Beachwood Point Rehab. The nursing supervisor contacted police about the drugs and the weed was destroyed in the presence of police and staff.

Theft, March 30 - Police arrested a man for stealing $161.75 worth of meat and seafood from Giant Eagle, 24601 Chagrin Blvd.
