Apparent Heroin Overdose In Beachwood

Emergency services personnel rushed a local man to the hospital on Monday.

BEACHWOOD, OH — Beachwood cops once again felt the reach of the state's heroin epidemic this week. The department helped rush a local man to the hospital after he was found unconscious on Monday, the victim of an apparent heroin overdose.

This is one of the first major heroin incidents in the city since April 5, 2017 when a woman passed out in the bathroom of a local company, after apparently shooting heroin. The woman was assessed by the Beachwood Rescue Squad, but she refused transport to the hospital. She was found to be in possession of what police believed at the time was heroin and drug abuse instruments.
