Bad Driving Leads To Drug Arrests In Beachwood

Police caught two people with marijuana this week after they stopped them for minor traffic violations.

BEACHWOOD, OH — A pair of minor traffic violations led to drug arrests in Beachwood this week. Two people were caught with marijuana or weed paraphernalia after they were pulled over for some kind of driving offense.

Warrant Served, Jan. 8 — Beachwood Police took custody of a woman that is wanted on an active warrant for a traffic offense. The woman was picked up from the Cuyahoga County Jail .

Theft from Building, Jan. 8 — A resident at the Vue reported that $3,000 was missing from her apartment.

Shoplifting, Jan. 8 — Someone stole about $115 of merchandise from the BP Oil and Lehigh Gas Station, 25705 Chagrin Blvd.

Theft from Shipment, Jan. 9 — Five tons of salt were stolen from the salt dome at Beachwood Place Mall, according to Green Estates Inc. The salt is valued at $600, police said.

Criminal Mischief, Jan. 9 — Someone tampered with a locking mechanism on a door on a fifth floor suite at Advance Partners, 3401 Enterprise Pkwy.

Harassing Communication, Jan. 9 — A resident's former cleaner has been leaving harassing voicemails saying he has unpaid dues.

Drug Paraphernalia, Jan. 10 — Police stopped a car on Chagrin Boulevard for a license plate violation. The driver had a suspended license. Officers also found marijuana paraphernalia in the car. The driver was arrested.

Shoplifting, Jan. 10 — A woman was arrested for stealing $34 of merchandise from Marshall's, 24055 Chagrin Blvd.

License Suspension, Jan. 10 — Officers stopped a car for making an illegal right turn. The driver had a suspended license and was arrested.

Shoplifting, Jan. 10 — Twelve shirts were stolen from Cardboard Heroes at Beachwood Place Mall on Wednesday. The shirts have a combined value of $420. There are no suspects at this time, according to police records.

Possession of Hallucinogens, Jan. 10 — Police stopped a car on Richmond Road for making unsafe lane changes. The driver had a suspended license and was arrested. Officers found a small amount of marijuana and an open container of alcohol in the car.

Sexual Imposition, Jan. 11 — Police arrested a man for sexual imposition at Beachwood Place Mall.
