BEACHWOOD, OH — The Beachwood mayoral race is currently too close to call based on unofficial results. Incumbent Merle S. Gorden and competitor Martin S. Horwitz are locked in a near dead heat, with the challenger holding a slight lead.

Based on the Cuyahoga County Board of Election's website, Horwitz is leading Gorden by about 32 votes. That represents less than a 1 percent difference of the total vote.

If Horwitz's lead holds, he would unseat the incumbent Gorden.
