Beachwood Eyeglass Store Spots Deception: Blotter
Don't try to buy contacts or glasses with fraudulent credit cards. You'll almost certainly be spotted.

BEACHWOOD, OH — A man attempted to purchase eyeglasses using a fraudulently obtained credit card. The employees, all trained to see things discerningly, spotted the deception. Read on for more information on that incident and others from the past week.
Warrant Served, June 12 - Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers arrested a woman on an active warrant through Beachwood. Police from the city picked the woman up.
Rescue Squad, June 12 - The Rescue Squad was called to the sidewalk near 24698 Turnbridge Lane for reports of an elderly woman that had taken a tumble. The woman was transported to Ahuja Medical Center.

Lost Property, June 12 - Two trash cans belonging to a Buckhurst Drive resident are missing.
Shoplifting, June 12 - An adult man was arrested for shoplifting from Dillard's, 26500 Cedar Rd. The man was attempting to get away with $522 of merchandise.

Damaged Property, June 12 - A tractor trailer struck wires near BP Gas, 25705 Chagrin Blvd. The wires came down on the tractor and on the ground, bringing police and fire to the scene for repairs.
Warrant Served, June 13 - Beachwood Police took custody of a man from Cleveland City Jail on an active warrant.
Fraud, June 13 - It turns out you shouldn't try to pass stolen credit cards at an eyeglasses store. They will almost certainly spot your deception. Police arrested a man for credit card fraud. The man attempted to purchase merchandise from Les Lunettes Optique, 2101 Richmond Rd.
Hit-Skip, June 13 - An adult woman was arrested for fleeing the scene of an accident. The accident took place near the Cleveland Clinic Medical Building, 26900 Cedar Rd.
License Suspension, June 14 - An adult man was arrested for driving with a suspended license. The man had failed to get his license reinstated. The man's car was towed.
Fraud by Telecommunication, June 14 - A resident of Green Road handed a fraudulent check over to police. The resident had been mailed the check.
Forgery, June 15 - More than $10,000 was drawn from a construction company's accounts using fraudulent checks.
Lost Property, June 15 - A resident's city-issued recycling can is missing.
