Beachwood Eyes Mercantile Road Building

City intends to buy property for access road

The City of Beachwood is moving to buy a $1.5 million Commerce Park building so it can be torn down for an access road if plans for Highland Hills development come to fruition.

The building, at 23456 Mercantile Road, is located on the south side of Commerce Park. An access road in its place could connect Mercantile Road to future Highland Hills development, said Brad Sellers, a contractor who runs the city’s economic development operations.

“This has been part of the city’s plans for many many years,” said Council President Mark Mintz.
