Beachwood Hires Communications Coordinator

Mayor Martin Horwitz said he wants to streamline communication between the city and its residents. This is a step toward that goal, he said.

BEACHWOOD, OH — The city has hired Lynn Johnson to serve as the first communications coordinator for Beachwood. She will begin work on May 30.

The communications coordinator is a new position, created this year by new Mayor Martin Horwitz. Johnson will be responsible for media relations, outreach to the public and the city's communications initiatives.

"We are pleased to have Lynn joining out staff at City Hall," said Horwitz. "Her presence represents the first step toward delivering on an issue I have been a proponent of since serving as Council President — to have a communications professional in the office daily whose job it is to get information out to the community quickly."

Johnson has been the director of marketing and communications for the Music Settlement in Cleveland over the past four years. She has been in the communications industry for more than two decades, the city said in a press release.

"Snowplows in the winter, waterslides in the summer...moving to Beachwood was like winning the lottery," Johnson said.
