Beachwood Launching Fall Festival Event

Beachwood's Family Fun Day transitions to Fall Festival with expanded selections of entertainment, food and live music.

BEACHWOOD, OH - From the City of Beachwood: Beachwood’s Family Fun Day has long been a community favorite. This year, the City of Beachwood has partnered with Beachwood Schools and the Beachwood Chamber of Commerce to transition this event from summer to fall and expand the selection of entertainment, attractions, food and fun. Beachwood’s First Annual Fall Festival will be held on Sunday, October 8 from noon to 6 p.m. in Beachwood City Hall Parking Lot.

“What I like best about the revamped event is that there will truly be something for everyone at Fall Festival,” said Mayor Merle S. Gorden. “Young kids will still enjoy the free face painting, balloon creations and inflatables, but adults and older children will enjoy the Unique Boutique, an expansive selection of food and live music. Fall Festival will bring more members of the community together on our special Homecoming Weekend.”

Fan favorites from Family Fun Day will remain. Guests will enjoy free face painting, balloon creations, a new 9-hole miniature golf course and more than a half dozen inflatables. In addition to the standard bounce house style inflatables, there will be a unique inflatable corn maze and the ever popular “Extreme Air” to lob bungee-willing guests high into the air as it has in years past.

In former years, basic hot dogs and pizza were available from Beachwood’s concession stand. This year, dining choices will include a good selection of food trucks including Swensons Drive-In, PastaTivo, Caterology, Barrio, East Coast Custard, Crazy but True Gourmet Popcorn and Cleveland Espresso. There will also be a melt-in-your-mouth caramel apple and funnel cake bar.

This year, carnival games will be available for a nominal rate of $1 per game, with proceeds benefitting Beachwood Schools student activities. Participants can take home fabulous prizes ranging from donut pillow to light-up hats.

Guests will enjoy a free performance by Beachwood’s own American Idol semi-finalist Stephen Fowler and his band, TCB from 1:30-5:30 p.m. Fowler is a 2000 graduate of Beachwood High School and a current resident with two boys attending Beachwood Schools.

Pumpkin carvings by Mike Pickett and a pumpkin patch are another new features of this year’s family event. Sponsored by the Class of 2019 and the Beachwood American Sign Language Club, guests will be able to pick a pumpkin and paint it for a small fee to benefit the sponsoring nonprofits. Student volunteers will be on hand to help load purchases into your car.

The Unique Boutique, a gathering of artisans, businesses and other organizations, will be open during Fall Festival. Now in its 12th year, the Unique Boutique is the PTO's largest fundraiser to benefit the Beachwood High School After Prom. Exhibitors will offer hands-on activities, crafts and various products for purchase including jewelry, clothing, accessories, purses, furniture, birdfeeders, yard flowers, hand turned pens, ceramics, pottery, personalized items, Cleveland items, paintings, illustrations, photography, home fragrance, edible products and much more.

Beachwood’s 1st Annual Fall Festival is free and open to the public. Food, carnival games, pumpkins from the patch and select items from Unique Boutique are available for purchase. Parking is available at the Beachwood Family Aquatic Center, Fairmount School and Beachwood High School.
