Beachwood Summer Camps Offering Early-Bird Rates

Registering your child now for a summer camp could save you money and ease your worries about what your child will do while you're at work.

BEACHWOOD, OH - With temperatures in the 60s in most of Greater Cleveland, residents are starting to daydream about sunnier days. Well, blink and summer will be here. So now's a good time to start thinking about what you're going to do with your kids during those long July days.

The city's summer camps are broken down by grade level and themes. The Kidz Camp is for children in grades K-2 and runs from June 12 to July 28. Kids will be treated to sports, art, music, field trips, camp crafts, and more during Kidz Camp.

Bison Camp is for grades 3-6 and also runs June 12 - July 28. Kids will be able to combine a personal camping trip with group activities during this one. Each camper will select group activities of personal interest and participate in swimming, art, field trips, and sports.

Youth Theater Camp is for grades 2 - 8 and runs from June 12 - July 28. Campers will learn the various aspects of theater (singing, reading lines, set production, etc.) and the put on a fully-staged musical.

Sports Camp is for grades 4-8 and runs from June 12 - July 21. This camp is divided into three two-week sessions, and a different sport will be focused on in each session. There will also be other activities like swimming, batting cages, intramural sports, and guest speakers.

Teen Travel Camp is for grades 6-8 and runs from June 12 - July 21. Weekly excursions include: Pioneer Waterland, Geauga Lake Wild Water Kingdom, Swings N Things, rope course, rock climbing, ice skating, bowling, hiking, and more.

If you register your children for camp now, you'll get the benefit of an early-bird rate. You can register from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday - Friday, at Beachwood City Hall's Recreation Office. You'll need proof of residency.
