Beachwood's Habitat for Humanity and Shredding Day on Sept. 25

The dual events will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Beachwood Community Center, 25325 Fairmount Blvd.

BEACHWOOD, OH - The Beachwood Community Center is hosting a Personal Shred Day and a Habitat for Humanity Dro-Off on Sept. 25 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Beachwood Community Center, 25325 Fairmount Blvd.

Rather than simply throwing away personal documents, residents are encouraged to shred the paper. Residents are allowed to have up to 12 blue grocery bags, or six banker boxes, shredded for free. Proof of residency will be required and the event will happen regardless of weather.

Habitat for Humanity is looking for usable household items and construction and renovation materials. Accepted items include furniture, appliances (stoves, dishwashers, washers and dryers), sinks, toilets, vanities, counter tops, tiles, tools of any kind, landscape materials, doors, electrical fixtures, plumbing materials, wood (6 to 8 feet long), bricks, tables and chairs, kitchen cabinets, etc.

All items that you drop off for Habitat must be clean and usable. Tax receipts will be available. Pick-up arrangements for larger items can be made by calling 216.429-3631.
