Boo-Tique Halloween Event Offers Safe Trick-Or-Treating For Kids

Eton Chagrin Boulevard is providing a safe route for trick-or-treating at the mall's stores and restaurants from 5-7 p.m. Thursday.

WOODMERE, OHIO — With local and state health officials stressing caution over Halloween activities because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Eton Chagrin Boulevard will host a safe and socially distanced trick-or-treating event for area children and their families on Thursday.

The retail space in Woodmere is hosting its annual Boo-Tique Trick-Or-Treat event from 5-7 p.m. Thursday when kids and families are encouraged to dress up in Halloween costumes and trick-or-treat throughout the Eton space. To limit congestion and to allow proper social distancing guidelines to be followed, there will be a marked route to follow, which will begin outdoors and then move to various shops and restaurants.

The route will begin at the Lululemon store and continue through the mall entrance at Barnes and Noble and B Spot. A sanitization station will provide hand sanitizer, masks, wipes and gloves to families. All participants are asked to wear COVID-19 face-coverings throughout the entire route and employees handing out candy will be wearing gloves and will be passing out individually wrapped candy to ensure safety.

Organizers have partnered with the Northeast Ohio Food Allergy Network to provide allergy-friendly treats and snacks at various stops throughout the route. The City of Woodmere’s Police Department and K-9 unit will also be handing out candy during the event.

“This event is one of our favorites at Eton to bring the community together and celebrate Halloween,” Stacie Schmidt, vice president of marketing & communications for Stark Enterprises said in a news release. “Knowing this year is different than most, we are taking every precaution and social distancing guideline necessary to provide the community a safe and enjoyable evening.”
