Your breath is one of your most precious gifts.  Here are 8 benefits for increasing your breathing:

  • Through your breath, you enhance your mental clarity.
  • Through your breath, you exchange oxygen for energy.
  • Through your breath, you reduce the stress in your life.
  • Through your breath, your nervous system is regulated.
  • Through your breath, you can increase your awareness.
  • Through your breath, you improve your digestive system.
  • Through your breath, you strengthen your immune system.
  • Through your breath, you improve your chance of losing weight.

 

Never in your lifetime could you image that breathing has so many benefits. The best way to get all these benefits from breathing is to Move Your Body More!

It is an exaggeration to say that you must have pain to get gain. It is also a misunderstanding to say you must sweat to get any benefit. The real goal in exercise/Move Your Body More is to increase your breathing. Vigorously moving your body increases the body’s call for oxygen and improves all the previously mentioned benefits.  Move Your Body More vigorously also releases happy-time endorphins into the bloodstream.

Take the opportunity to Move Your Body More through four key body movements:

  • Bend both your knees slightly (as though you are sitting down) 12 times.
  • Reach your hands to the heavens and replace to your hips 20 times.
  • Extend arms away from the body and rotate in circles 20 times forward and 20 times backward.
  • Shadow boxing your right fist punching to the left and left fist punching to the right for 3 minutes.

Important Note: As you Move Your Body More and increase your breathing, take the time to breath in a controlled and steady manner. This technique will improve your ability to get the most out of each and every breath.

After you have perfected these techniques, you will be a living lion/lioness and not a dead dog!
