Buffet Shoplifted From Beachwood Giant Eagle

A man with a crack pipe in his backpack tried to steal ribs, steak and crab legs from the grocery store.

License Suspension, Aug. 14 — Police stopped a vehicle for speeding on I-271 south. The driver had a suspended license and was arrested.

Shoplifting, Aug. 14 — A woman was arrested for shoplifting from Dillard's, 26500 Cedar Rd. The woman tried to leave the store with merchandise worth $1,166.

Suspicion, Aug. 14 — A resident placed a gift card in their mailbox for someone else to pick up. The gift card wasn't in the mailbox when the other person came to pick it up.

Shoplifting, Aug. 14 — Two juveniles were arrested for shoplifting from Dillard's. The duo tried to get away with $264 merchandise.

Stopping After Accident, Aug. 14 — A car rear ended a vehicle at the intersection of Richmond and Chagrin. The vehicle fled the scene but was later located by police. The driver was arrested.

Suspicion, Aug. 15 — A woman reported that there were suspicious marks on her sister.

Criminal Mischief, Aug. 15 — Police arrested a man for trespassing and criminal mischief.

Neighbor Dispute, Aug. 15 — A pair of neighbors argued over property lines and got police involved. A report was taken by officers.

Shoplifting, Aug. 16 — A man was arrested for shoplifting a veritable buffet from Giant Eagle, 24601 Chagrin Blvd. He was found with steak, crab legs and ribs in his backpack. When he was caught by police, a crack pipe was also found in the backpack.

License Suspension, Aug. 16 — Police stopped a woman for a red light violation and found she had a suspended license. The woman was arrested.

OVI, Aug. 16 — A driver hit an unoccupied vehicle that was parked on Letchworth Road. The unoccupied vehicle was severely damaged. The driver was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failure to maintain an assured clear distance ahead.

Shoplifting, Aug. 16 — Victoria's Secret at Beachwood Place Mall reported that someone stole about $138 worth of merchandise.

Unauthorized Use of Vehicle, Aug. 16 — A man's step daughter took his car without asking. The woman returned the car on Thursday and the man declined to pursue charges.
