Call for Beachwood Artists!

The Beachwood Arts Council is looking for Beachwood artists interested in submitting one piece of artwork, in any medium, that represents the BAC, to be hung permanently on the wall of the entrance way of the Beachwood Community Center. It will be hung over a permanent plaque stating that the BAC was established in 1964 to promote and support the visual and performing arts in Beachwood and Northeast Ohio.

The BAC supports the arts in several ways: we hold art exhibitions at the Beachwood Community Center, including the juried high school show and the Beachwood K-12 show for over twenty years. In addition, we offer local professional artists the opportunity to exhibit their work with us. We offer the community free music and dance performances, ranging from the Cleveland Orchestra Double Bass Quartet to the Cleveland Ballet Youth Company, museum and private home tours, and many more events. We also offer hands-on art workshops for adults and children that have included glass blowing, painting, silk scarf painting, printing and more. In the past, we have had arts and crafts shows and DiversityFESTs that feature the art, music and dance of a local ethnic community. We also support our local high school students by offering an arts scholarship to a graduating high school senior who will pursue the arts at college.

The winner will be chosen by the Trustees of the Beachwood Arts Council.
