Campaign For Jewish Needs Starts Sept. 6

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland's fundraiser will last three months and will support programs and services for the Jewish community.

BEACHWOOD, OH — The 2018 Campaign for Jewish Needs will kick-off Sept. 6 and last for three months. The annual fundraiser supports programs and services for Cleveland's Jewish Community, comprise of approximately 80,000 residents.

The Campaign will be begin with a Launch Event on Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. The event is open to the public and will be held at Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple's Penni & Stephen Weinberg Social Hall, 23737 Fairmount Blvd., Beachwood.

The Federation said in a statement that it expects hundreds to attend the Launch Event. The theme for 2018's Campaign will Inspiration Around the World. Community members are invited to ask themselves "What inspires you?"

“The success of past Campaigns is a testament to the resilience and commitment of our community. But this year, as needs continue to grow, we need to do more,” said David F. Adler, general campaign chair in a statement. “One of our priorities this year is ‘We Aspire to Leave No One Behind.’ We are a strong community yet there are people who live next door to us who are suffering. We provide a safety net for Jews in need, no matter who they are or where we live.”

The featured speakers for the kick-off event include Ben Becker, Rachel Heiser and Kevin Margolis, along with Danielle Katz of Beit Shean, Israel, Cleveland’s sister city. Each speaker will share personal stories of how the Campaign helps change lives in Cleveland and around the world.

Last year's Campaign for Jewish Needs raised $31.6 million.
