Car Crashed On I-271, Driver Arrested For Drinking
Plus, Beachwood Police help a restaurant deal with an unruly employee (who was fired).

BEACHWOOD, OH — At about 1 a.m. on Friday morning, a woman crashed her car on the I-271 northbound exit ramp onto Chagrin Boulevard, police said. Police arrived, investigated, and determined the woman was intoxicated. She was arrested for operating a vehicle impaired.

Damage Property, June 15 — A motorized shopping cart hit a car parked at Giant Eagle on Chagrin Boulevard. Police arrived and took a damage report.

Shoplifting, June 15 — Two people stole merchandise from the Big Lots store on Chagrin Boulevard. Police could not say how much merchandise was taken.
Trespassing, June 15 — Officers arrested a woman who shoplifted more than $340 of merchandise from Dilliard's at Beachwood Place Mall. The woman had a warrant for her arrest and had been banned from mall property, so she was also charged with trespassing.

Shoplifting, June 16 — Police arrested a juvenile man for shoplifting from Dilliard's on Saturday. The juvenile attempted to steal about $40 of merchandise, police said.
Damaged Property, June 16 — A tire was left in the middle lane of I-271 south on Saturday. A passing vehicle hit the tire, damaging the car, police said.
Possession of Marijuana, June 17 — Police stopped a car on Chagrin Boulevard after it failed to obey a traffic device. The driver had an active warrant for his arrest and police found weed and an open container of alcohol inside the driver's car. The driver was arrested.
OVI, June 17 — Police arrested a woman for driving drunk at about 2 a.m. on Sunday morning.
License Suspension, June 17 — Officers spotted a car driving with expired license plates on Green Road. The driver had two active warrants for his arrest, so he was taken into custody.
Disturbance, June 17 — After getting fired, an employee at Bob Evans freaked out and got hostile, police said. The ex-employee allegedly made threats toward the restaurant's manager.
