Charges Filed In Beachwood Place Mall Shooting

Jamallee McKinley Jr. faces charges for aggravated robbery, felonious assault, having a weapon under disability and more.

BEACHWOOD, OH — Charges have been filed for a shooting that happened outside Beachwood Place Mall on March 17, 2018. Jamallee McKinley Jr., 24, from Euclid, has been charged with aggravated robbery, felonious assault and more.

McKinley had a Glock .45 pistol in his possession when he was arrested, a weapon that prosecutors are asking the court to forfeit. Police also seized about $8,500 from the 24-year-old during his arrest on St. Patrick's Day.

Beachwood Place Mall was briefly placed on lockdown on March 17, after two shootings occurred. Shortly after the shootings, police revealed that the first incident was apparently part of a fight between two men that knew each other, Beachwood Police Chief Gary Haba said in a press release at the time. During the brawl, one of the men was wounded, suffering a gunshot wound to the leg. The other man was arrested at the scene.
