Convicted Felon Indicted For Gun Offense In Maple Heights

A 36-year-old man is facing charges for having a gun despite three previous convictions for drug trafficking.

MAPLE HEIGHTS, OH — A Maple Heights man has been charged for being a convicted felon in possession of a gun. Dwayne B. Sheron, 36, was indicted in federal court this week, the Department of Justice said in a news release.

Sheron allegedly had a 9 mm gun, despite having been convicted on three prior occasions of drug trafficking. Those previous convictions make it illegal for him to have a gun, the indictment against him said.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearm (ATF) and Cleveland Police led the investigation into the 36-year-old. Assistant U.S. Attorney Brian Deckert is prosecuting.
