Municipal Services Building Costs Rise
Council hears proposal that adds 1.4 percent to $4.8 million municipal services building renovation project
Beachwood City Council approved* an ordinance requesting a change order adding nearly $67,000 to the budget for the municipal service center project.
The center, a warehouse in Commerce Park that is currently under a $4.8 million renovation, will house the city’s maintenance department once completed.

- Approved an ordinance to provide eight small businesses with monthly stipends for one year to assist their transition from the Beachwood Business Development Center to their own spaces. The stipends will total $27,000.
- Approved an ordinance to pay $27,618.77 in bills.
- Approved a contract with the Ohio Department of Transportation to upgrade nine intersections along Chagrin Boulevard and one at Richmond Road and Bryden Road. The city’s share of the project’s cost is $262,680.
- Approved the purchase of a part* for a new salt truck for $26,875.32.
- Heard for the first time an ordinance changing the zoning for Commerce Park to allow retail sales under certain circumstances and referred the matter to the city's Planning and Zoning Commission for review.*
- Approved a contract with Signal Service Company to monitor the city’s traffic signals for $3,280.
- Authorized the city’s Human Services Division to administer three senior trips.
