Drunk Driver Tries To Switch Seats With Passenger: Beachwood Police

The driver had a suspended license and there was an open container of alcohol in the car. Police saw the duo try to switch seats.

BEACHWOOD, OH - Police dealt with a not-so-clever drunk driver on Sunday. During a traffic stop, an allegedly intoxicated driver tried to quickly switch seats with her passenger, but got busted mid-act by police. Read on for more information.

Disturbance, March 17 - Police were called to the Residence Inn, 3628 Park East, for reports of an argument. They found two guests, a male and a female, having an argument.

Suspicious Vehicle, March 17 - Police stopped a woman on Chagrin Boulevard in a suspicious vehicle. The woman had an outstanding warrant through the Woodmere Police Department. Beachwood Police took her into custody and transferred her to Woodmere Police.

Damaged Property, March 18 - A leaky ceiling at the LaPlace parking garage caused damage to a woman's car.

Shoplifting, March 18 - Sephora at Beachwood Place Mall, 26300 Cedar Rd., was the site of another shoplifting attempt. This time a juvenile female tried to get away with about $109 in merchandise. The girl was arrested by Beachwood Police.

General Assistance, March 18 - The security gate at the Four Seasons Apartment Building, 26400 Geo Zeiger Drive, lowered onto a truck. No damage was reported to the truck.

Shoplifting, March 18 - An adult woman that is barred from Beachwood Place Mall decided to trespass on Saturday. She entered Nordstrom and shoplifted merchandise worth $941.47.

Threatening, March 18 - An unidentified suspect made a series of threatening phone calls to the manager of the Homewood Suites, 25725 Central Pkwy.

Damaged Property, March 19 - Police were called to the area of Brentwood Road because two juvenile males were playing catch with an apple, messed up a throw, and accidentally broke a window.

Obstructing Official Business, March 19 - Police stopped near Green Road and Chagrin Boulevard for reckless driving. When they approached the car they saw the passenger and driver try and switch positions. The driver was arrested for OVI, License Suspension, and Open Container in a Public Place. The passenger was arrested for Obstructing Official Business.
