Drunken Man Had Loaded Handgun In Beachwood

Police said the man was in a car that was parked suspiciously outside a local business after midnight.

BEACHWOOD, OH — While investigating a suspicious car parked at Sprint, on Chagrin Boulevard, after the business was closed, police found a drunken man playing with a loaded handgun, according to police reports obtained by Patch.

A little before 1 a.m. on Monday morning, officers were investigating the vehicle with two people inside, in the parking lot. Officers were on the scene for more than an hour, according to police reports.

Police say they arrested the passenger, an adult man, who had a concealed, loaded handgun in his possession. The man also appeared to be intoxicated, and police found an open container of alcohol in the man's car.

The driver of the car was cited for possession of an open container of alcohol in a car, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Police cleared the scene by 2 a.m. on Monday, reports say.
