The Global Issues Resource Center and Library at Cuyahoga Community College will present the “Changing School and University Culture and Climate” event in partnership with Virginia Tech; Cleveland State University; the University of Akron; Beech Brook, a behavioral health agency; and Facing History and Ourselves, an organization that combats racism, anti-Semitism and prejudice through education. The summit is open to all college, university and K-12 faculty, staff, administration and students.
On Feb. 2, from 7-9 p.m., “Light in the Darkness: Not in Our Town," a one-hour documentary about a town taking action after anti-immigrant violence devastates the community will be shown, followed by a panel discussion with educators and students about issues presented in the film. On Feb. 3, panel discussions will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
