In interior design today, the new decorating ideal reflects the lived-in, unfussy and creative imperfections of real life, according to a growing coterie of industry experts, designers, home decorating magazines and blogs. Two local interior designers, Dawn Cook and Joelle Snavely will present their inspiring design principles that espouse this attitude.
“Our emphasis is on freshness, on real individuality,” says Cook. “We are going to show places that you would really want to live in, not just look at – which is what decorating is all about today. There are so many factors to comfortable, personal decorating now -- and it’s just no longer about an overly polished, formal approach.”
