Fraud, Slander In Beachwood Weekend Blotter

BEACHWOOD, OH — Police had a busy weekend in Beachwood. Officers recorded a fraud case, dealt with possibly slanderous phone calls being made to a local office, the routine shoplifting call and more. Check out all the incidents from the weekend below.

Fraud, Feb. 16 — Someone opened a FirstEnergy account in a Beachwood resident's name. The account was active in Parma. The resident said he wanted police to document the incident.

Warrant Served, Feb. 16 — Police went to Cuyahoga County Jail to pick up a man wanted on an outstanding warrant from Shaker Heights Municipal Court.

Suspicion, Feb. 16 —An employee at Wiggins Place said that someone, possibly her niece, is making slanderous phone calls to the woman's office.

Shoplifting, Feb. 16 — Police arrested a woman on Cedar Road for theft and receiving stolen property. Officers found more than $336 of stolen merchandise from Dillard's on the woman.

License Suspension, Feb. 18 — A woman was stopped for speeding on Green Road, near Harvard Road. The woman had a suspended license and was arrested. The woman's car was towed from the scene.

OVI, Feb. 18 — Officers arrested a woman for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop on Sunday. The woman also had an open container of alcohol in her car.
