Highland Hills Future Therapist Donna Reid Named Inaugural Winner of Successful Hands Grant Program
Selected from more than 650 applications nationwide

Massage Envy Spa, the largest employer of licensed massage therapists and estheticians in the United States, is pleased to announce that Donna Reid of Highland Hills and Cuyahoga Community College graduate, is one of five recipients of its inaugural Successful Hands Grant Program. Established in May 2014 by Massage Envy Spa, Bon Vital, and Biofreeze, the Successful Hands Grant Program provides support to massage therapy students in their educational endeavors and helps meet the growing demand for alternative wellness services.
The Successful Hands Grant Program awards $1,000 stipends to five students currently enrolled in massage therapy programs across the country. Additionally, each recipient’s school is provided with a $500 grant package. Reid was chosen from more than 650 applications that were received from 215 massage therapy schools nationwide.

As the demand for alternative wellness services such as massage therapy continues to rise, so does the need for professional massage therapists and estheticians. According to U.S. News & World Report, massage therapy was named one of The Best Jobs in 2014 and the Bureau of Labor Statistics projects massage therapist employment growth of more than 20 percent between 2012 and 2022, adding 30,000 more jobs to the field. Since its inception in 2002, Massage Envy Spa has created more than 21,000 new massage therapist positions and projects to add 1,500 new positions annually through 2018.
