Jewish Federation of Cleveland Holding Super Sunday Fundraiser in Beachwood

More than 1,000 members of the Cleveland Jewish community are expected to volunteer.

BEACHWOOD, OH - More than a 1,000 volunteers are expected at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland's Super Sunday fundraiser. The fundraiser has historically raised close to $1 million for the organization.

According to a release from the organization, 91 cents of each dollar donated during the campaign goes directly to the community for programs and services.Rebecca Golsky, the communications and public relations manager for the Federation, says the money will go toward projects like cemetery upkeep and maintenance, security for the synagogues throughout the area, and donations to humanitarian organizations.

For folks not inclined to working telephones, part of the day will also be dedicated to community service projects. Golsky says the projects may vary between groups of people but she expects one group to be working on making blankets for vulnerable women and children.
