Jewish Federation of Cleveland Seeks Donations for Victims of Israeli Fires

The fires have displaced nearly 100,000 people.

BEACHWOOD, OH - The Jewish Federation of Cleveland is joining Jewish Federations from across North America to try and raise funds for Israelis impacted by fires that are currently raging across the nation. Some outlets have said that 100,000 people have already been displaced due to the blazes. In many places, electricity and train line serve has been interrupted and major roads have been shut down.

"Once the flames are extinguished, people will have to return to their damaged homes, schools and neighborhoods. Many community institutions that provide vital programs and services—including those of our partners—have been hit hard," the Federation said in a statement. "They will be struggling to rebuild just when they are needed most."

The Government of Israel is supporting those impacted by the fires primarily through local municipalities. Jewish Federations are working with our local partners and the National Emergency Authority to assess urgent and emerging needs.
