“This is an exciting time in John Carroll’s history as we strengthen signature programs, such as Accountancy and Pre-Health Professions,” says Dr. Jeanne Colleran, interim president of the University in a statement. “In addition to hiring a significant number of new faculty in key academic areas, we remain true to our mission to educate the ‘whole person’ with an emphasis on academic excellence and professional ethics.”

John Carroll has been expanding its professional development programs over the past several years. The university also appointed 18 new faculty members this year, bolstering several majors, including: Management, Marketing, and Supply Chain; Communications; Education; and Sports Studies.

However, John Carroll did not receive a ranking on a national level, so it cannot compare a ranking to Case Western Reserve University, which was ranked as the best college in Ohio. Princeton University in New Jersey was ranked as the best national university for the seventh year in a row.

Princeton is trailed by Harvard University, which comes in at second place, and the University of Chicago is the third best national university, according to U.S. News. For the 15th consecutive year, Williams College in Massachusetts ranked as the best national liberal arts college, followed in second place by another Massachusetts school, Amherst College.
