At Least 5 Cars Broken Into in Beachwood Nov. 22: Police Blotter

BEACHWOOD, OH - Remember to lock your cars, Beachwood. At least five incidents last week involved someone breaking into a car and stealing loose change and other goods from inside.

Suspicion, Nov. 21 - Someone called and threatened a Brian Drive woman.

Shoplifting, Nov. 21 - Three juveniles were arrested for shoplifting from Claire's and the Pink boutique store at Beachwood Mall, 26300 Cedar Road. The kids snagged nearly $700 in merchandise.

Traffic Offense, Nov. 22 - A driver was arrested on Richmond Road after they failed to stop at a red light. The driver was also operating the car with a suspended license.

Fraud, Nov. 22 - A man reported that his brother racked up $2,874 in charges on his Saks Fifth Avenue credit card. It's not clear how the brother got the card, but he spent the money at Beachwood Place Mall nearly a year ago. The man didn't want to pursue charges against his brother, he just wanted to file a report for the record.

Burglary, Nov. 22 - Residents on Hazelmere Road reported that someone broke into their home and cars and stole two jackets and a pair of sunglasses.

Burglary, Nov. 22 - A woman reported that someone broke into her car and stole change from the vehicle. The car was parked on Hazelmere Road.

Theft from Motor Vehicle, Nov. 22 - Someone stole a variety of items from a resident's car. The value of the missing items is $1,380.

License Plate Theft, Nov. 22 - A woman living on Richmond Road had a license plate stolen from her car.

Theft, Nov. 23 - An unidentified suspect stole a cell phone from an employee of the Aldo store at Beachwood Place Mall.

Attempted Theft from Auto, Nov. 25 - A man attempted to break into a East Silsby man's car. The resident heard a commotion in his driveway and came out to see what was happening. He found the suspect attempting to get into his car. The suspect was startled and ran off. Police were unable to locate the suspect.

Shoplifting, Nov. 25 - A woman was arrested for stealing a pair of $9.99 socks from H&M at Beachwood Place Mall. A man was also arrested for stealing merchandise from H&M that day.

Felony Theft, Nov. 25 - A man was arrested outside Saks Fifth Avenue, 26100 Cedar Road. He attempted to get away with $2,085 worth of merchandise. The man was also found in possession of drug paraphernalia and was charged with obstructing official business. He also had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Theft from Auto, Nov. 25 - A resident reported that on Nov. 22 about $2 in spare change was stolen from her vehicle on Hazelmere Road.

Shoplifting, Nov. 25 - A juvenile female was arrested for stealing $169 worth of merchandise from Sephora at Beachwood Place Mall.
