The museum also weighed in on George Floyd's death and subsequent protests in Cleveland and around the nation.

BEACHWOOD, OH — On June 9, the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage will host an interfaith civil rights discussion on Zoom. The program comes in the wake of widespread unrest following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
Floyd died while in police custody. Video of his death shows a police officer pressing his knee into Floyd's neck for nearly nine minutes. Protests over Floyd's death have gone national, spreading to all 50 states, including Ohio.
The museum's program will begin at 7 p.m. and will feature Rev. Dr. Otis Moss Jr and Rabbi Jonathan Cohen. The program is free to join and registration for the event is now open.

The Maltz Museum also issued a statement on Floyd's death. The statement is below.
The Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage is a museum of diversity and inclusion. Rooted in the Jewish value of respect for all humanity, we stand in solidarity with the black community and raise our voice in unison with the chorus of multi-racial cries demanding action and change.
George Floyd’s death is a tragedy in a long line of inexcusable tragedies. Each human life taken from this earth at the hands of another who was meant to protect and serve deserves their name to be known. We stand with the families of these victims and all victims of hate, and we will continue to tell their stories — stories of injustice, stories of discrimination, stories of resilience and hope — as we fight to end the systemic racism that plagues this country.
As written inside our museum walls, the words of Edmund Burke ring true now, “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
We will not be silent. We will keep working to Stop the Hate.
