Man Loses $500 Of Property While Working Out In Beachwood

Plus, police investigate thefts from other businesses in the city.

BEACHWOOD, OH — Police dealt with a series of thefts and shoplifting incidents from buildings over the weekend. One person, a man working out at a local gym, lost nearly $500 of property in one incident.

License Suspension, July 27 — Police stopped a car on Harvard Road that was driving without its headlights on at 6 a.m. The driver had a suspended license and the plates on the car were wanted by the BMV. The car was towed by police.

Theft from Building, July 27 — About $3 were stolen from an employee's purse at Joseph Konieczny and John T. Kenny. Police found the money on an underage person. The money was returned to the staffer and no charges were pursued.

Leaving an Accident, July 27 — A driver fled the scene of a car accident on Chagrin Boulevard. The driver did not exchange information with the other driver.

Possession of Marijuana, July 28 — Officers stopped a car for speeding on Richmond Road, near Fire Station II. The driver had marijuana in her possession and was cited.

Theft from Building, July 28 — About $500 of property was stolen from a person at Lifetime Fitness. Police are still investigating the incident.

Shoplifting, July 28 — Two juveniles were arrested for stealing nearly $200 of merchandise from Dillard's. Police recovered the merchandise.

Shoplifting, July 28 — A woman stole a $29 birthday cake from Giant Eagle. Police caught her and arrested her.
