Marijuana, Handgun Get Man Arrested In Beachwood
Police also dealt with six shoplifting incidents at Beachwood Place Mall over the weekend.

BEACHWOOD, OH — It was a busy weekend for Beachwood cops. Police arrested a man for improperly handling a handgun and possession of marijuana on Friday. Officers also busted shoplifters throughout the weekend at Beachwood Place Mall.

Improperly Handling a Firearm, Jan. 19 — Police stopped a car on Geo Zeiger Drive, near the Four Season Apartments Buildings I on Friday. The car had fake license plates, prompting the stop. Officers found the driver had a handgun in his car, along with marijuana. The driver was arrested.

Suspicion, Jan. 19 — Four men were seen peering into cars in the 3700 block of Green Road. The men wandered onto private property, still gazing into vehicle. Police were then called and spoke to the group. Nothing was missing from any of the cars, so the men were warned for trespassing. One of the men had an active warrant for his arrest and was taken into custody.
Receiving Stolen Property, Jan. 19 — Police arrested a man on Friday at Beachwood Place Mall, 26300 Cedar Road. The man was found with nearly $270 of merchandise from Hollister, all allegedly stolen. The man lied to officers about his identity when confronted and will also face a charge of falsification.

Shoplifting, Jan. 19 — A woman was arrested for trying to steal about $140 of meat from Giant Eagle.
Shoplifting, Jan. 19 — A juvenile was arrested for shoplifting from Dillard's at Beachwood Place Mall. Police recovered about $60 of stolen merchandise.
Possession of Marijuana, Jan. 19 — Police stopped a car on Richmond Road for failing to signal. The driver failed to display their license, as well. Officers found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the driver's possession and he was arrested.
Shoplifting, Jan. 20 — An employee of Saks Fifth Avenue, at Beachwood Place Mall, was arrested for theft. The employee stole more than $2,500 from the store.
Shoplifting, Jan. 20 — A juvenile was arrested for stealing $45 of merchandise from Dillard's.
Shoplifting, Jan. 20 — Police arrested a man for stealing $220 of merchandise from Sephora at Beachwood Place Mall.
Shoplifting, Jan. 21 — Officers arrested two juvenile girls for shoplifting from Sephora at Beachwood Place Mall. The duo hid merchandise on their bodies and tried to then leave the store. The girls also had stolen merchandise from Forever 21 and Altar'd State in their possession. One of the girls had previously been banned from going to the mall and was charged with trespassing.
