Meeting: New Beachwood Schools Athletic Eligibility Standards

Parents with questions about Beachwood City Schools' new academic standards for athletes can attend an informational meeting next week.

The meeting will be March 22 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.

The raised the academic standards for athletes last month.

Beachwood City Schools raised the bar above the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s, requiring that students achieve a 2.0 GPA in the preceding quarter and no failing grades to play.

The standards allow athletes who raise their grades four weeks after the start of the season to participate.
