More Than 100 Volunteers Gather For Cemetery Cleanup

Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery saw a diverse cross-section of the Jewish community for the annual event.

BEACHWOOD, OH - More than 100 volunteers armed with shovels, clippers, and wheelbarrows came to the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Fall Cemetery Cleanup at Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery (formerly known as Ridge Rd. #1) in Cleveland.

Volunteers worked together on Sept. 18 to pick up fallen branches and twigs, paint the garage, clear the fence line, and uncover headstones. Preserving cemeteries is considered one of the most righteous acts of chesed (kindness).
